We are seeking a Safety Manager Professional for our growing company who would be responsible for continuously monitoring and adapting safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe and fully compliant environment for all employees. This position requires a person that is detailed oriented, has strong communication and hazard identification/auditing skills. The ability to communicate safety program guidelines to a multidisciplinary workforce is essential. The goal is to ensure the workplace meets all legal expectations and actively supports occupational health and safety.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines
- Prepare, review and train to policies and programs that establish a culture of health and safety
- Evaluate practices, procedures and facilities to assess risk and adherence to compliance standards
- Conduct training and presentations for health and safety matters and accident prevention
- Inspect and assess equipment and machinery to identify unsafe conditions
- Investigate accidents or incidents to discover the correct root causes and corrective actions
- Recommend solutions to safety related issues related to improvement opportunities or new prevention measures
- Report out on health and safety issues and KPI’s
Skills & Experience
- Proven leadership experience in a safety manager role
- Thorough understanding of health and safety compliance standards
- Ability to develop relevant policies and programs
- Ability to perform risk assessments
- Excellent writing, organizational, communication and motivational skills
- Hands on work experience in the manufacturing or construction industries
- EHS degree or certifications in safety management
- Ability to provide classroom and field safety training presentations
